Consultations at Grosvenor Place are by appointment only (except for urgent cases which will always be seen).
Routine appointments may be booked up to 6 weeks in advance or on the day. Phone to speak to the reception team.
Nearly 2 thirds of all of our appointments are bookable in advance. Speak to the reception team and they will do their best to give you an appointment time convenient to you.
On the Day
Each morning we release a third of our appointments to be booked that day. These are ordinary routine appointments not emergencies and can be booked by speaking to the reception team. The phone lines open at 08:00 but remember Monday mornings will be particularly busy.
Some problems can be dealt with over the phone. If you need medical advice, but don’t think you need to visit the surgery, please ask for a telephone consultation. The receptionist will arrange for one of the GP’s to call you back. They may ask for some details, so that the doctor can assess the level of urgency.
If you feel that you need to see a doctor today, please let the receptionist know. You will be given an appointment either at the end of the current surgery of at the start of the next surgery. The doctor may phone you to assess the urgency of your problem. You will not be able to request a particular time of day.
We understand that some of our patients find it difficult to get to the surgery within normal working hours, so we have a number of extended hours appointments available in the evenings and Saturday mornings. Ask the receptionist for details.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
You may book an appointment at the surgery in one of the following ways
If you register for online services you can book appointments via your computer. Registration is simple just pop in with your id and a member of the Reception team will set you up with a user name and password.
You can then log on to the system via the Online Services page.
Patient Partner is our automated appointment service which can be accessed via your telephone any time of night or day, 365 days per year. Just call , select option 1 and follow the simple instructions.
If you would prefer you can of course speak to one of the reception team who would be happy to advise and book an appointment for you, either face to face at the surgery or by phone. Call and hold and you will be put through to one of the team.
From 1st October 2018 Patients in the B&NES area can, also book appointments with a local GP or Nurse in the evening and at the weekend in a B&NES general practice hub, provided by an organisation called BEMS (BANES Enhanced Medical Services), which is a GP federation whose members are all the GP Practices in B&NES.
